IDENTITIES OF THE PRESIDENT’S GUARDS AMBUSHED AND GUNNED DOWN BY ARMED BANDITS EMERGE

It made headlines yesterday that armed bandits had ambushed and attacked some presidential guards which led to the death of some of the guards.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the identities of some of the officers who lost their lives during the attack by the terrorists in Abuja have been revealed. Those killed during that ambush were one captain and two soldiers. The fatal attack took place on Sunday night after the terrorists ambushed them in the Bwari area of Abuja.

The incident was confirmed by the Spokesman of the Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa. He further disclosed that troops were searching the area to fish out the terrorists in case they are hiding there. Those killed were lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman and Captain Samuel Attah.

The two slain officers hailed Kogi State. While Suleiman was the son of Col Suleiman Ahmodu Babanawa (rtd) who hailed from Okpo in Olamaboro LGA of the state, Attah was from Ibaji local government of Kogi State in the North Central part of Nigeria.

They were said to be on their way back after they visited the Nigeria Law School in Bwari. Their visit to the Law School followed a distress call from the authorities of the school after they received a threat letter from the terrorists that they would be attacked soon. Unfortunately, the officers paid the ultimate price as they were ambushed and killed by the terrorists.
