ARMED GUNMEN STORM CHURCH DURING VIGIL, WHISK PEOPLE AWAY TO AN UNKNOWN DESTINATION

Some armed gunmen stormed a church during a vigil and whisked some people away amid apprehension by worshippers.

This sad incident occurred at a Celestial Church in Ogun State. It happened on Tuesday at the Celestial Church, Oshofa Parish at Wasimi, Ewekoro LGA of Ogun State, according to Sahara Reporters. The report revealed that two persons: Oluwaseun Ajose who is an Assistant Shepherd of the parish and Dagunro Ayobami (a Sunday School Teacher) were taken away by the gunmen. They were taken to an unknown destination by the invaders.

The attack was confirmed by the Police in Ogun State. The Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, described them as suspected terrorists as he confirmed the abduction of the worshippers. Also, the shepherd of the church, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, attested that the attack took place.

He went ahead and revealed that the gunmen have called him demanding for a huge ransom to release the victim. He stated that they asked for N50 million. But he told them that he was a servant of God and nobody pays him salary. He has also reached out to the security agents to help.

It is not clear what measures the security agents would activate to help in rescuing the victims alive. Nigerians can remember that a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State in the same South West was attacked by terrorists last week during a Mass. Many people were killed in the process. Till now, controversy have continued to trail the incident even as the actual people behind it are still unknown. Sadly, no arrests have been made so far.
