Alheri Emmanuel, mother of Deborah, a college student killed over alleged blasphemy, says the family was counting on her to support the education of her siblings after school.
Deborah, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was killed by a mob over alleged blasphemy.
In an interview with TheCable on Monday, Alheri said Deborah endured so much hardship while in school, adding that they could only afford a small quantity of garri when she got admission into the college.

The British Council has announced the sum of £600,000 UK-Nigeria grant funded partnerships earmarked to support systemic change between 20 institutions and organisations.
The Chief Executive of British Council Scott McDonald stated this Tuesday in Abuja during the presentation of an overview of Transnational Education in Nigeria by the National Universities Council (NUC).

Tunder Bakare Speaks About Killings

The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, murdered over alleged blasphemy.
In a statement on Monday, the APC presidential aspirant said no where in the Qur’an read by him justified killings.
The pastor also called for unity and respect for humanity in the country.
Lagos Promises Justice In Murder Of Engineer

Lagos State Government has condemned the May 12 mob attack by commercial motorcycle riders on a sound engineer, David Imoh, who was killed in Lekki, assuring that justice will be done.
The state’s taskforce on environmental offences arrested 10 commercial motorcyclists and impounded 123 motorcycles operating at Lekki area on Monday as a consequence of the murder.
