Hausa/Yoruba Clash In Ibadan

A lottery kiosk operator, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, Mufutau Sanni, has been reportedly feared dead following injuries sustained while trying to separate a fight between an Hausa man and his Yoruba counterpart on MKO Abiola Way, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday.
According to a newspaper vendor, who witnessed the scenario, Mr Remi Abimbola, while speaking with Tribune Online, trouble started when argument ensued between an Hausa trader and his customer, a development which caused Sanni to intervene with motive to resolve the matter.
Sanni’s intervention, however, did not go down well with Hausas who are majorly commercial motorcycle operators, which made them to descend heavily on him.

Tinubu Is Not My Candidate – Bakare Declares

Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has disclaimed a report doing the rounds on social media that he has endorsed Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that he has done no such thing as he had refused to step down for the ex-Lagos governor even at the APC national convention.
In a statement made available to newsmen, on Saturday, Bakare who was reacting to an alleged interview he granted to some bloggers, termed the alleged statement credited to him as a “viral but concocted and ridiculous statements credited to me, by some unscrupulous writers and bloggers.”
He denied pointedly that he endorsed Tinubu as his candidate for the 2023 poll. According to the cleric, who contested the presidential primary of APC with Tinubu, now the presidential candidate.
Northern Nigerian Youths Block Abia Highway, Protest Killing Of Herder

Some angry youths of Northern extraction have blocked a major highway in Abia State to protest against incessant attacks and killing of herders and cows by unknown gunmen.
The youths in their hundreds condemned the recent killing of scores of cows and a herder at Lokpanta cattle market.
They said the situation has affected their movement, thereby making it impossible for them to exercise freedom of movement in search of their daily livelihood.
Some residents of Abia State recently demanded the immediate relocation of the Regional Cattle Market at Lokpanta which they alleged provides cover for criminal herdsmen behind incessant kidnappings in the area.
Governor Uzodinma Sacks 27 IMC Chairmen

Governor Hope Uzodinma has ordered the immediate dismissal of the 27-man Interim Management Committee Chairmen of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday after a closed-door meeting at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers, Government House, Owerri.
At the meeting, Governor Uzodinma thanked them for the services rendered in their different local government areas.
APGA Asks Ikpeazu To Resign, Apologise

The All Progressive Grand Alliance has called on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State to show decency by resigning and apologising to the people of the state, over the withdrawal of accreditation from the state polytechnic, and the Medical College of the Abia State University, Uturu.
In a statement by the state APGA Chairman, Reverend Augustine Ehiemere, the party said it had received with sadness the deaccreditation of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, by the National Board for Technical Education.
