Chelsea traded tackles with Aston Villa in an entertaining clash at the Stamford bridge staduim on Saturday evening.
The blues were hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the league season with a win over Aston Villa who were also looking for a second consecutive league win of the campaign.
The game began with Chelsea on the front foot as the blues saw more of the ball in the opening minutes of the game. And it didn’t take the home side a long time to get themselves ahead as Romelu Lukaku expertly finished off a cross field pass from Mateo Kovacic to give the blues an early lead in the game.
The blues went close to doubling their lead but Kai Havertz could only find the upright bar as the blues searched for a second goal in the game. Aston Villa had a few clear cut chances to draw level in the game, but were denied numerous times by Edouard Mendy who had an answer for everything threw at him as the first half ended with the blues in front.
Chelsea doubled their lead almost immediately after the resumption of the second half as Mateo Kovacic made no mistake finishing past Steer following a terrible back pass from Tyrone Mings.
The game would end in a 3-0 scoreline as Romelu Lukaku scored a late goal in the game with Chelsea maintaining their fantastic unbeaten start to the season.
Earlier in the day, Manchester united defeated Newscastle united at Old trafford as a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo either side of fine strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard secured an emphatic 4-1 win over Steve Bruce’s men.
Elsewhere, Arsenal arrested their winless start to the season following a 1-0 victory over Norwich city while Manchester city were also able to secure slender 1-0 against Leicester city at the King Power staduim.

Manchester united currently sit at the top of the Premier league table with Chelsea just behind the red devils in second place.
Man city are third on the log following their third consecutive win of the season while Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur complete the top 5. Arsenal climb up to 16th on the table following their first win of the season.
