NSCDC ARRESTS 2 OVER N2.4M FRAUD, CURRENCY RACKETEERING

The Zamfara Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had arrested two persons in connection with fake currency and fraud involving N2.4 million.

The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Mr David Abi, made this known to newsmen on Tuesday in Gusau.

He said the suspects, Ibrahim Muhammad and Ibrahim Bungudu, were arrested after one Abbas Hashimu complained to the command that he was duped of about N2.4 million by Bungudu.

He said the victim, a trader at Tudun Wada Market, was hypnotized by the suspects to give them money and did not realise that he was being duped until later.

Abi said Hashimu told him that he could not realize himself or what he was doing after shaking hands with the suspects, during which he gave them N2.4 million cash without notifying members of his family.

He said the suspects were also caught in possession of N300, 000 fake currency, adding that they would be charged for criminal conspiracy, cheating, use of charm and forgery.
