Genevieve Nnaji is a prominent Nigerian actress, producer, and director, born on May 3, 1979, in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. She spent her formative years in Lagos State. As the fourth of eight siblings, she was brought up in a middle-class household, with her father being an engineer and her mother employed as a nursery school teacher.

She completed her secondary education at Methodist Girls College in Lagos before pursuing higher education at the University of Lagos, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in creative arts. During her time at the university, she began auditioning for roles in Nollywood.
