1. Cosmas Maduka

Cosmas Maduka is a 62-year-old Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist.

An Igbo Christian from Nnewi, Anambra State, Maduka’s entrepreneurial journey kicked off at a very younger age. Wrongly dismissed with the sum of two hundred naira by his uncle who had earlier engaged him as an automobile apprentice, Maduka, at the age of 17, set up a company dealing in automobile spare parts. The breakthrough of his business began thirty nine years ago when the Nigeria government granted ten motor companies import license, which Coscharis was selected. Today, Coscharis Group is a conglomerate with many subsidiaries across the country and one of the leading distributors of several brands of luxury cars.

2. Cletus Ibeto

Cletus Madubugwu Ibeto is a 68-year-old Nigerian billionaire businessman from the industrial city of Nnewi.

Ibeto started out as a spare parts import dealer after he underwent apprenticeship training in the motor parts business. In 1988, at the age of 36, he ended direct importation of lead-acid automotive battery and plastic motor accessories after completing his factory in his hometown, Nnewi. Seven years later, The Ibeto Group turned out to be one of the largest auto spare parts manufacturing outfits in the country. He also established a Petrochemical company that deals in the blending of oil lubricants and the production of various types of petroleum products for local and international markets.

3. Gabriel Chukwuma

Chief Gabriel Chukwuma is a Nigerian billionaire businessman.

He is the proprietor of Gabros International Football Club, an elite club in the Nigerian Premier League. Apart from his business interest in sports marketing, he is also involved in real estate and hospitality.

He is an indigene of Nnewi, Anambra State.

4. Alexander Chika Okafor

Alexander Chika Okafor is a businessman from Nwewi, Anambra.

Okafor was still a little boy during the Nigeria civil war and had to cater for his family just after his father’s sudden demise when he was just 8. He sold Akara on the streets with his mother and later got an Nnewi traditional apprenticeship experience from his Uncle. After acquiring skills in business and was subsequently settled by his uncle, he started supplying Ghanaian fishermen with fishing materials until 1978 when the late Ghanaian president, Jerry John Rawlings, closed borders on the importation of foreign goods which made Okafor return to Nigeria and founded his company, Chicason Group. Today, he is a billionaire.

5. Gilbert Obiajulu Uzodike

Dr Gilbert Obiajulu Uzodike is a 72-year-old Nigerian billionaire businessman.

Thirty nine years ago, after returning from a stint with Raychem Corporation in the United States, he founded a manufacturing company, Cutix Plc.

He is a native of Nnewi, Anambra State.

6. Chief Louis Onwugbenu

Chief Louis Onwugbenu is another billionaire businessman from Nnewi, Anambra State.

After the disruption of his secondary education by the Nigeria Civil War fifty four years ago, he began a new phase in life. In 1972, two years after the end of the civil war, he ventured into business and later established a company, Carter Group, which has today grown into large conglomerates with several subsidiaries nationally and internationally.

7. Ifeanyi Ubah

Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah is a Nigerian billionaire businessman and politician.

Ifeanyi began his business career as an exporter of motor tyres and spare parts within and across West Africa. Twenty years ago, he established Capital Oil and Gas Limited. He is also the owner of The Authority Newspaper and Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club.

He is from Nnewi, Anambra State.

8. Innocent Chukwuma

Chief Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma is a 60-year-old Nigerian business magnate and investor.

In 1981, at the age of 20, shortly after his education, Innocent started trading in spare parts, a very lucrative business in South East Nigeria. He is the founder of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, Nigeria’s first indigenous automobile manufacturing company.
