The case filed by Northern Coalition (CNG) for FG to allow the Southeast region to secede from Nigeria has raised a lot of arguments within the country.
It’s important to recall that some members of CNG (Northern Coalition) went to the Federal High Court in Abuja and told the court to order the National Assembly to ensure the exit of the South-East zone from Nigeria.
However, the members of this group (CNG) claimed that the exit of South-east zone or region could be made before the conclusion of the ongoing constitutional amendment in Nigeria.
The plaintiffs led by Nastura Ashir Shariff, Balarabe Rufa’I, Abdul-Aziz Sulaiman and other members of the group revealed that they took the action because of the need to reduce the violence and destruction caused by the agitation for secession by IPOB members.

Recently, a report disclosed that the Federal High Court in Abuja will entertain the suit filed by the leaders of CNG (Coalition of Northern Groups) asking for FG to allow South-east region to secede.
Nevertheless, I believe that people should embrace unity in Nigeria and remain as a united nation despite the agitations for Biafra and the case filed by the Northern Coalition Groups to allow South-east to exit from the country. Here are some reasons people should embrace unity.
Allowing The South-east To Secede Will Mock The Efforts Of Nigeria’s Former Leaders That Fought For Independence In 1960.
I believe that dividing Nigeria or allowing a region to secede from the country might make the efforts of late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Tafawa Balewa, Obafemi Awolowo and other leaders to be in vain.

It’s important to know that these former leaders despite their tribes and religion fought for independence and worked hard to see that Nigeria becomes a united and powerful nation.
